Bandung – Tourism in Bali shows a stretch of recovery in line with the improving conditions for handling Covid-19 in Indonesia. To support this, Pertamina Gas Subholding, through its affiliate PT Pertagas Niaga, has made efforts to provide natural gas to ensure the availability of clean energy in the Province of Bali which is marked by a CNG trial, located at Mengwi Terminal, Badung, 31/3/2022.
The Director of Strategy and Business Development of PT Pertamina Gas, Agung Indri and the President Director of PT Pertagas Niaga, Aminuddin together with the Head of the Land Transportation Management Center for Region 12, Muiz Tohir, conducted a trial for the use of Compressed Natural Gas or CNG. The trial was carried out by filling CNG from the Mobile Refueling Unit (MRU) to the CNG Cradle which would later be used to supply gas, one of which was for the hotel industry in Bali.
The first CNG supply in Bali Province was supplied by gas from East Java transported by PT Patra Logistik. Arriving at Mengwi Terminal, Badung, Bali, the CNG will then be transferred to the MRU Facility. This MRU will later fill the CNG with a smaller package, in the form of a CNG Cradle.
“With the CNG Cradle, which is more compact and mobile, we are targeting this to be in demand by the industry in Bali, especially the hotel, restaurant, cafe or laundry industry,” Aminuddin explained.
On the same day, a meeting of potential customers was also held at The Trans Resort Hotel, Bali, which became a pilot project for using CNG, which was attended by the Regional Secretary of the Badung Regency of Bali, I Wayan Adi Arnawa along with 150 consumers who came from the industry, hospitals, hotels, restaurants and cafes. The entry of the first CNG into Bali was welcomed by the Badung Regency Government because it provides an environmentally friendly energy alternative.
“Bali tourism is no longer just selling beauty but also starting to move towards the awareness of utilizing clean energy. This will give more points,” explained I Wayan Adi Arnawa.
This statement is agreed by The Trans Hotel Bali as a pilot project hotel that uses CNG. "We are happy and proud to take part in taking steps in the use of environmentally friendly energy. The use of CNG is a breakthrough, we also hope to make savings of approximately 15%," & rdquo; explained GM The Trans Hotel Bali, Alexander Jovanovich.
Amin also explained that CNG has advantages in terms of safety and economical prices. CNG is natural gas which is compressed to a pressure of up to 250 bar and then stored in pressure vessels for easy distribution. CNG has been prioritized to meet gas needs for industries whose areas have not been connected by gas pipelines. In addition to these needs, CNG is also used for gas fuel in the transportation sector.
