Support Reliability of Gas Supply for Industry, Pertagas Niaga and Kendal Industrial Estate Build Clustering of Gas Facilities

Kendal – Steps to support industrial progress in Central Java by ensuring the supply of clean energy continues to be encouraged by Pertamina Gas Subholding and Industrial Estate managers. Monday (26/09), Pertamina Gas Subholding through its affiliate PT Pertagas Niaga (PTGN) and Kendal Industrial Estate (KIK) signed a cooperation agreement for the supply of natural gas through Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) pipe clustering and utilization of facilities at KIK. The signing was carried out in the Kendal Industrial Estate by the President Director of PT Pertagas Niaga, Aminuddin, the President Director of KIK, Stanley Ang and the Director of KIK, Didik Purbadi.

Through this collaboration, PTGN will supply CNG through the pipe clustering method to serve industrial plants in KIK. This method makes gas distribution to industrial consumers more secure and secure in terms of supply reliability. This also supports the industry in obtaining gas energy as clean energy that is more environmentally friendly. The total volume of CNG to be supplied by PTGN is 250 MMBTUD and will increase to 500 MMBTUD in 2023.

"With the construction of this facility, we are targeting the supply of CNG clustering gas for KIK to be implemented in December 2022. We will supply this CNG supply from PTGN's Mother Station (MS) in Blora, Central Java," Aminuddin said.

As one of the large Industrial Estates in Central Java, this collaboration was also enthusiastically welcomed by KIK. "With this collaboration, we hope that industrial players in KIK can take advantage of clean energy that is maintained by the availability of supply volume. This is an important key for the industry in the smooth operation of their factories. We also hope that the construction of the CNG Cluster will run smoothly and operate on time," Stanley explained. KIK also expressed its gratitude to the Central Java Provincial Government, as well as the Kendal Regency Government for their support so far.

This CNG clustering project is also a transition to meet the needs of natural gas before the KIK area flows directly through the transmission pipeline. PTGN has so far been successful in supplying CNG for industrial needs in various regions, namely South Sumatra, East Kalimantan, Java and Bali with a total of 500,000 MMBTU/month. To meet industrial needs in Central Java, PTGN currently supplies gas from the CNG Mother Station in Blora and from East Java.
