Semarang – Pertamina Gas Subholding, through its affiliate PT Pertagas Niaga, continues to step on the gas to increase the use of natural gas for industry, especially in Central Java and East Java. Within a week Pertagas Niaga served three new customers using natural gas in the form of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for their operational needs.

The first customer is the Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI) Refinery in Tuban, East Java. The TPPI refinery started using Pertagas Niaga's CNG on Friday (30/09) for a gas turbine test. This refinery has a significant role in supplying fuel oil (BBM), LPG, and condensate to meet domestic needs. The second and third customers are PT Kobe Boga Utama, a food industry factory in Bojonegoro and PT Handal Sukses Karya, a shoe sole manufacturer located in Rembang, Central Java which was served in the first week of October 2022. These three consumers received CNG supplies from Mother. Pertagas Niaga CNG Station in Blora, Central Java. "We are trying to serve the maximum natural gas needs for industries in Central Java and East Java by utilizing CNG from Blora. The industry should no longer doubt the security and certainty of gas because the supply is guaranteed now," said Aminuddin, President Director of Pertagas Niaga in his written press statement.

The use of natural gas for the industrial sector continues to be echoed in order to support equitable distribution of energy use that is more environmentally friendly. In addition, the use of natural gas from domestic gas sources helps the Government to reduce LPG imports. TGN has been supplying CNG for industrial needs in various regions, namely South Sumatra, East Kalimantan, Java and Bali with a total of 500,000 MMBTU/month. To meet industrial needs in Central Java, PTGN currently supplies gas from the CNG Mother Station in Blora and from East Java.
