Supported by Gibran, Pertagas Niaga Ready to Step on Gas Realizing Natural Gas Utilization in Solo

Solo – The effort to accelerate the expansion of the use of natural gas as clean energy initiated by PT Pertagas Niaga as part of the Pertamina Gas Subholding received full support from the Solo City Government, Central Java. Thursday (13/04), the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming, together with the President Director of PT Pertagas Niaga, Aminuddin and the President Commissioner of Pertagas Niaga, Bambang Saputra, held an audience to discuss the use of natural gas for industry, commercial and household use in the city of Solo. "The purpose of utilizing natural gas for the city of Solo is to provide access to more environmentally friendly energy that is also competitive," Aminuddin said. Responding to this, Gibran expressed his full support so that he can make a positive contribution to the community. "I hope this will be realized soon so that the people of Solo can benefit from natural gas for both the city gas network and industry," said Gibran.

In this hearing Aminuddin also explained the condition of gas supply in Central Java and Pertagas Niaga's optimism to supply gas needs in this province. "Currently we have a CNG Mother Station in Blora. The gas can be transported to Solo to meet the needs of transportation, industry and the city gas network for the community," said Aminuddin. Pertagas Niaga targets that in the next two months the first installation of the Solo city gas network will be installed as a pilot project. It is hoped that with the support of the Regional Government, socializing to the public will further pave the way for encouraging the use of natural gas which is more practical, safe, environmentally friendly and its availability is more guaranteed.

The acceleration of gas grid development in Solo is also inseparable from the Government's target to build 4 million gas grid connections in 2024-2025 in order to make the energy mix program a success and suppress LPG subsidies. The current improvement in economic conditions is also predicted to stimulate industry in Solo, which requires the support of sustainable energy availability. This is also one of the attractive factors to convince investors to invest in supporting the growth of the industry.
