Ship the Prime LNG from the Cargo Dock Filling Station, Subholding Gas Is Getting More Steady in East Indonesia's Gas Supply

Bontang – Pertamina's SubHolding Gas affiliate continued to record positive achievements at the end of 2021. Tuesday (28/12), PT Pertagas Niaga for the first time sailed the MV Saviour Ship which carried 40 ISO LNG tanks with a total capacity of 32,000 MMBTU. The LNG is channeled through the PT Pertamina Gas Cargo Dock Filling Station in Bontang, East Kalimantan to be sent to Konawe, South Sulawesi to supply the nickel smelter industry consumer, PT Obsidian Stainless Steel. The MV Saviour is expected to sail for four days to reach its port of destination in Konawe.

“Industrial growth in Eastern Indonesia needs to be supported by reliable energy supplies. Shipment of LNG with large capacity is Pertagas Niaga's effort to make it happen,” explained the President Director of Pertagas Niaga, Aminuddin. Amin also added that PTGN is optimistic that LNG demand will continue to increase along with the increasing supply capacity from Bontang.

The presence of a Cargo Dock Filling Station also supports Subholding Gas to be able to supply LNG with a larger capacity, namely ISO tanks of 40 feet, which are then shipped to areas of consumers who need it. Previously, LNG shipments were carried out from Loktuan Port, Bontang. Currently, the focus of distribution is Eastern Indonesia.

Since 2015, PT Pertagas Niaga has been supplying LNG through the ISO Tank truck mode in retail through the Bontang Filling Station facility to supply gas to industries in Kalimantan, Sumbagut to Sulawesi Island, Java and Bali. LNG supply is an effort to meet gas energy needs in areas that have not yet been connected to a pipeline network and are far from gas sources. This supports the use of gas energy as a reliable and economical clean energy.
