Blora – The challenge of reliable supply of natural gas energy for industry in Java has finally been answered. At the end of 2021, Friday (31/12), PT Pertagas Niaga's Mother Station Compressed Natural Gas (MS CNG) in Jiken District, Blora Regency, Central Java began operating. This activity was marked by the flow of gas from the PEP C ADK well to the Mother Station area, the compression process to filling CNG into the transport truck. This effort is a tangible form of PT Pertagas Niaga's commitment as part of Pertamina's Gas Sub Holding to be able to meet gas needs for industry in Java Island whose areas have not been connected to a gas pipeline network.

Mother Station Blora compresses Pertamina EP Cepu ADK gas originating from the Alas Dara Kemuning Field with a capacity of 3.5 MMSFCD for the next 10-12 years. Utilization of the initial production of PEP C ADK gas is then channeled through installation pipes built by PT Pertamina Gas. This step marks the synergy of Pertamina Group from upstream to downstream.

The construction of the MS is believed to be able to meet the needs of natural gas for industries in various parts of Java. "Praise be to God, the initial CNG filling process went smoothly and has been distributed to industrial consumers in the Central Java area. The existence of MS CNG is the answer to the reliable supply of energy supply for the wider industry at a more competitive price,” explained PTGN President Director Aminuddin in his written press statement. Its strategic location in the middle of Java Island will also make the supply of CNG faster in terms of time.

In addition to CNG products, the processed PEP C ADK gas will also produce condensate which functions as a solvent for industrial purposes. "Industrial demand for condensate needs is currently quite high and we are confident in meeting these needs so that we take a role in the advancement of the national industry," Aminuddin added. Currently, PTGN has supplied CNG to various industries both in Java, East Kalimantan and South Sumatra. The supply of CNG is the answer for the fulfillment of gas in a short time for industries whose areas have not been connected to a gas pipeline network. Utilization of natural gas as clean energy is also in line with Pertamina's efforts to encourage emission reduction.
