Supporting Efforts to Accelerate COVID-19 Vaccination, Pertamina Gas Subholding and South Sumatra Police Hold Vaccinations in Palembang

Palembang – Efforts to accelerate COVID-19 vaccination continue to be carried out by all parties, including Pertamina Gas Sub-Holding. Through its affiliates, PT Pertagas Niaga (PTGN) in collaboration with the South Sumatra Police held a vaccination activity at the Tunas Teladan School Building, Gandus, Palembang, South Sumatra. This event was held for two days, Monday-Tuesday (27-28/12/2021) by targeting 2,000 vaccine recipients for either the first or second dose.

Every citizen who received the vaccine also received a 5 kg package of rice each provided by PTGN. The activity which has been held since 08.00 WIB has been running smoothly while still observing health protocols.

More than 20 health workers and committee members are involved in supporting the implementation of vaccination. "We are very grateful, because this activity helped me get the vaccine not far from home and thank God I got rice too," said Monalisa, one of the vaccine participants.

PTGN Stakeholder Relations Manager, Ratna Dumila said that the rice aid for this mass vaccination activity was Pertagas Niaga's support for the vaccination program launched by the Government. "With this rice package stimulus, it is hoped that residents will be more enthusiastic about being vaccinated. The more people who are vaccinated, the faster we will get back up," said Ratna.

Head of the Health Department of the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol. Dr. Samsul Bahar, MKes on a separate occasion stated that this activity was part of a series of vaccinations promoted by the South Sumatra Police. "All ranks of the South Sumatra Police are targeting 24,750 doses of vaccine to be injected every day. We are making our best efforts to achieve that target, one of which is the collaboration of various parties,”

Based on data from the COVID-19 Task Force on Saturday (25/12) the number of Indonesian citizens who have received the complete vaccine dose is 110.4017 people or 53% of the target target. The Indonesian government targets to vaccinate as many as 208,265,720 people even though the current achievement has met the target set by WHO.
