Batang – PT Pertagas Niaga (PTGN) as an affiliate of Pertamina's Gas Subholding consistently strives for the availability of clean energy for industry players. Wednesday, (07/09) for the first time PTGN supplied natural gas in the form of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for the Batang Industrial Park Area, Batang Regency.
PTGN supplies the new Nestle Bandaraya Factory for its boiler fuel with a total volume of 12,000m³/month. The use of CNG is a form of high awareness of the industry using clean energy.
PTGN's CNG supply is channeled from SPBG Kaligawe, Semarang, some of which can be used for industrial needs. This CNG is then delivered to Batang Regency in collaboration with PT Patra Logistik as a transporter.
"This supply of CNG is a result of PTGN's aggressiveness as a gas subholding group to expand the market in Central Java, which is one of the focuses of our commercial area. The industry in Batang continues to grow and we are optimistic that we can support it by providing clean energy,” said President Director of Pertagas Niaga, Aminuddin, 9/9/2022.
The use of CNG is a solution to meet the need for reliable clean energy for areas that have not yet been reached by gas pipeline infrastructure. Currently PTGN has supplied CNG in Java, South Sumatra, East Kalimantan and Bali with an average volume of 850,000 MMBTU/month. Utilization of natural gas as clean energy is also part of the effort to realize the distribution and independence of domestic energy.
The distribution of natural gas to the Batang Industrial Park area adds to the industry served by the Pertamina Gas Subholding in Central Java. To date, 19 commercial and industrial customers have been served with a total gas consumption of 13 BBTUD.
While in Central Java and East Java as a whole, the Subholding Gas Group has served natural gas utilization with 961 KM transmission pipeline infrastructure and 2,947 KM distribution pipelines. Meanwhile, non-pipeline infrastructure is for the utilization of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG).
Previously, General Manager of PGN Sales Operation Region 3, Jabanusa, Edi Armawiria explained that the development of pipeline and non-pipeline infrastructure was carried out to accelerate the increase in natural gas utilization for all customer segments. There is also an industrial area whose development is being intensified with the potential for natural gas utilization in the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate of around 10 BBTUD and KI Kendal of 13 BBTUD.
A number of SPBGs that have been operated to provide gas fuel that are more efficient and environmentally friendly for transportation, namely SPBG Ngagel, SPBG Kaligawe, SPBG Mangkang, and SPBG Penggaron can also be optimized to serve natural gas needs outside the transportation sector.
"PGN is ready to distribute natural gas and develop natural gas infrastructure to provide more added value for industrial areas in Central Java. All infrastructure is integrated to support the long-term supply of natural gas, both onshore and offshore," said Edi.
PGN is committed that the distribution of CNG for industry in the Batang Industrial Park is a realization of Pertamina's Gas Subholding efforts to provide reliable and integrated infrastructure and gas supply. Efforts to expand natural gas services will also be increased in order to support the productivity of industries in Central Java.
